Cruise Control Issue

For a few years now if I use the cruise control and watch the throttle it tends to pulsate and the speedo also tends to move up and down 1-2 MPH. I don't think it hurts anything but just is a little un-nerving. The speed sensor has been changed twice during that time by the transmission shop and the TPS (diesel version) has also been changed twice by the same transmission shop. Every once in a while the overdrive light will flash when I put it in reverse and the code comes up as the speed sensor but it is only a soft fault (clears if I drive maybe 100 feet or turn off the truck and restart it). I think that fault is because I have not stopped all forward movement before I have changed from drive to reverse. Is this normal for you-all that the cruise control pulsates. The transmission shop now thinks that the computer (behind the driver side kick panel) might be the cause. Any Ideas out there???

Surging is usually caused by cable or IP lever binding.....

But the only time it does any surging is while using the cruise control. With normal throttle use it is steady as a rock. Could it still be caused by the cable???
