Why is it hard, will it not physically fit in the tranny tunnel?
It sucks that it would be difficult to put one in..cause i think a 6 speed would be awesome to have.
Well, the ZF6 is only available in the SuperDuty. The ZF6 was also never put behind a 4.6L. You will need a custom bellhousing adapter, you will need to make your own crossmember for it, and you will need a custom adapter to make it bolt to your Transfer case. Then, you will need new driveshafts front and rear.
And yes Bobby, that is IF it will fit in the tunnel.
Not to mention that I highly doubt it will work with the 4.6's flywheel, and I have no idea if a 5.4's flywheel from a SD would work...
It will be much more economical, and painless to sell and buy a SD for the ZF.
