short bed or step side
any one know where to look to find a decent short bed or step side bed for my 79 f-150? I live around columbus ohio and cant find a decent bed for a decent price. I keep finding piles of rust for over 600! I dont mind a little rust or a few dents but not wanting to pay 600 for something that needs full sides put on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think you will be able to find anything good here in the Midwest. The place to go to get rust-free parts is the Southwestern states. Also, there are many places that bring back rust-free parts from out west. Do a Google search for rust-free truck parts. Here's one that I found, they are located in Iowa:

look in the classifieds here under 1961-1979 trucks for sale. user fordman359 says he can get rust free beds ($500 - $1000). I was looking for one and he responded to my ad. I have located one in great shape here in the midwest just in the last week, so its not impossible, just rare.

No I have not tried deercreek yet. Really wasnt sure if they would have something that old or not thats in decent shape. Thanks for the info, I will try them tomorrow.

i have a short box ill take 300.00 bucks some rust in the floor toward the front if interested ,even comes with decent tailgate
