Cleaning "finger grime?"

Ok....I dunno who else to ask!

About a month and a half ago.....while my truck was in the parking lot of a local mall, some jealous cheby owner wrote....with their finger in the snow-slush-dirt that covered the doors......"you're truck is ugly"

No biggie...I've had my share of "Wash me," etc. all my life....but this one's strange....

I've now washed the truck *3 times,* even adding extra soap and scrubbing action where this was written and it's STILL THERE!!!!!! Not as clear...but the impressions of the "finger grease" or whatever are still there....

What do I need to do to get rid of this? My truck has the typical non-lusterous paint of a 40 year old truck....will I have to use rubbing or buffing compound to get this crap out of the paint...or is there a particular solvent?

If its like the pain job on my 68... 4 diff colors, I wouldnt do anything, or use some break clean. But if you dont want to remove the paint, put some wd-40 on a rag and try whiping with that. You wouldnt want to buff or you will have a shinny door. Lame!

it may be scratched into the paint. Try automotive paint polish.
