Does anyone have any experience with this tool and our trucks? I have a 2001 F350 7.3, and can get a great deal on this tool right now its on sale for $200 Canadian. I guess i need to know if its going to give me all the details about the things like my fuel pressures and other sensors that are specific to the Diesel motor. I have heard that our trucks are ODBC II but they also have an additional set of Ford Diesel specific instructions.
Don't bother. It will not pull the diesel codes, neither will the AutoXray tool. You would be better off spending $300 on a used Superchips or Diablo Predator programmer. They both pull the PSD codes just fine.
I am not allowed to try it even though my wife works there... But I had a superchips programmer and the SC only pulls codes, I am wondering if this thing will actually tell you things like the Fuel rail pressure etc... Does the Ford Diesel actually require additional tools or will this give you the extras? I am tempted to push to try it out and see what it does, but I don't want to buy something that will just pull codes for $200. If it does more, I would be interested in trying it out...

You can read fuel rail pressures for less than $20 with a 100psi guage and a grease gun hose.
that scanner is not going to read the "extras" as there are no real sensors in the fuel rail for the pressure to be reported from.

Dont waste your $200.
Pretty tough to read that when you are driving down the road... But, as far as a sensor to read that, can't you read that with the AE software that was recommended above? What information can you read with the AE software that this won't read?

Brandon, how does that wiper arm not hit your FP guage?
There is a 1/2 of clearance between the arm and the bottom of the guage(see pic 1). If I want to change the wiper blade I turn the wipers on(intermitent), and during the first sweep lift the arm up. It clears with no problems, Youll see next week, when we get to Smokin.
Thanks Scott. Fuel pressure, and the mount is nothing more than some 1/4" alum strap. I drilled the hole in the strap with my R bit, and ran the 1/8" tap through it so the guage actually screws onto the strap. plain old 1/8th NPT 90* and a 36" hose to the fuel test port.
I sent a very specific question to the manufacturer about this tool asking if it would work with the year make and model of my truck and this is the answer I recieved:
"Dear Customer,
Vehicles that weigh more than 8500lbs GVW were considered heavy duty vehicles and were not required to be OBD2 compliant. If you are not sure if your truck is OBD2 compliant you can look on the emissions sticker and it will state OBD2 if it is compliant or not. If your vehicle has an emission sticker it will be located under the hood, normally in front of the radiator. If the label does not state OBD2 compliant or if your vehicle does not have an emission label the tool will either not link, or give you half the information from the computer. The only tools that will access these systems are high end scan tools with the correct software. I hope this has answered your question. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to reply to this e-mail or call one of our ASE Certified Staff Members at 1-800-544-4124. We are available Monday through Friday 5am - 6pm Pacific Time. - Technical Support"
Pretty bad eh?
Here is my reply:
" My vehicle does say that it is ODB2, but I think that you mis-understood my question. Being the dealer, I would think that you should know if your tool works with my truck or not. Being how Vegue your answer was regarding your product, I am assuming that you really have very little idea what it can or can't do, and am loosing my confidence in your product and your knowledge of it.
Sorry for wasting your time,"
I will keep posted the feedback I get from this message...(Thanks guys for the heads up)
