I am interested in picking up an early to mid 90's 4x4 but I don't know which will be the best for me. I will be using this mainly for trail riding and offroading but I dont want to have to trailer it anywhere. I am stuck between the F150 and F250 and I kinda like the Diesel so I was hoping I could hear some of the Pro's and Con's about them. I am not interested in anything smaller than a V8.
If I were setting one up for mostly trail riding and off roading I would lean toward the 150.the weight of the diesel alone is a good reason. My 250 will get stuck in dead level if the ground is soft (front end will sink )Another point to consider is wheel speed.A diesel will only turn around 3500-3800 rpm.A good gasser will can turn a lot faster and not do no damage to it.
Imo A 250 is simply to much truck to baja with. The ultimate setup would be a 150 with the 250 straight axles under it.
What kind of front suspension did the 4x4 F250 and F150's in the 90's have? I am pretty sure the 250 had straight axle leaf springs but could be wrong.
