I hit a bump in the road tonight on the way home and heard a clunk pulled over and saw the top leaf of the two leafs had broke what a pain. Was wondering if the Dealer or Local spring shop would be better to get new ones. Also this would be the best time to upgrade to the code x front springs? How much of a job is it to change out the front springs?

That is what you get for driving down town Rockford right now!!! I hear the roads JUST PLAIN SUCK right now. I am with F350. We take all our stuff to Madison Spring here at work. They aren't that reasonable, but they are there...
EDIT - I take that back, I really don't know how their pricing is for stuff like this. I did look into an add a leaf for my front and they were more expensive than just getting one off eBay etc.
I've busted a hundred U joints and caused many a spring to sag, but I've never broken one. The old 69 has packed 36 90 pound happy cubes most of its natural life, and it ain't broke.
I can have the truck up in the air and the left spring off in a matter of 20 minutes, ive done it numerous times and i know what tools to bring. However for a beginner, its a two hour weekend job.
I called the spring shop today and they quoted me $500 for the heavy duty like code x springs and 240 to install them said it would probably take 3 hrs sounds like Kris can do it faster

Yeah I imagine Rockford is pretty close to what I got right now. I have nicknamed RT 72 the Oregon Trail. I worry every time I drive on it that I am going to break one of my wagon wheels I could probably make a killing if I open up a tire shop by my house though. . . hmmmm.

That is no steal!!! Call Tom Peck Ford and they will do better than that. That is full price for a set of Ford x code springs.
I called them for the 08 tailgate and they beat every other dealer by over 10%.
