Hello All,
I have a 06 F250 SD XLT and my automatic door locks that are supposed to lock when you put the truck in gear only work sometimes. They will work for a month than stop for a month or two and every time I take it to the dealer they work so they cant figure it out either has anyone had this problem before?
Do you have a Ford Remote Start? Mine seemed to start doing this when I got the Ford remote start installed. It seems to not lock when you get over 5MPH if you start it by remote and then hop in and put the keys in and go, but I haven't figured out if that is the problem yet. It also could be the GEM module (Generic Electronic Module) as that seems to cause some problems. I am so used to hearing the doors lock when I start driving (my wife loves this feature - I'm not so much of a fan) that I don't really notice it if they don't lock all the time. I guess I need to do some troubleshooting to see if I have the same probem you do or mine is something completely different.
I dont have the remote start, but yes I to like them not locking I just wish they would make up there mind on what they want to do ad stick with it. I can remember it doing this since they where in my computer to give me my door lock code for the outside panel (which was a week after I bought it) but they tell me that has nothing to do with it.
