Steam Clean ???

When I had my HPOP leak fixed last week the guy steam cleaned the top of my valley off and my turbo hoses.. It looks awsome !!!! Do you guy think its safe to do the rest of the engine compartment if I cover up the important stuff.. ???

No. I hear it will mess up your connections. Use simple green and your garden hose. Cover up you alt (or don't be an idiot) and your ps pump (Cover that up no matter what, you can't avoid that. I like to use tinfoil).
That is all I know.

Forgive me if I sound condescending in my explanation it is not intentional. Steam is the gaseous form of water. Usually when used in a cleaning situation, it is under some pressure. When it hits a cool engine part it condenses back into water. When this occurs, there is a tremendous caloric discharge, or to put it another way, a lot of energy is released. Two things happen, usually moisture gets in the connector, and that energy discharge occurs IN the connector. Usually when this happens bad things will follow. I would do what Scott says. It works better over all.
