Post 351 Heads.

Yes. I have a 56 351 H.O. I have Precision Timing kit, 4V Edelbrock Intake, 600 Edelbrock carb, Performance Coil,Headers, Dual exhaust. I Have heard to really make the Winsors come alive you need to change the heads. I head they are really too small for this applocation. I was wondering what the best "cheap" heads would work for my motor. Is there any i can pick off a different motor at the salvage that would fit and flow better. I am very limitied on funds. It runs strong and hard the way it is but just looking for new options. thanks

GT-40P's are probably the best "bang for the buck". They were available on late Explorers as well as various aftermarket sources and Ford Performance. A set of World Products Windsors would be a good choice too.

Prodigy is it a 56 or 86 351HO? Or do you have your 86 HO in your 56 F1? Well anyway, any set of gt-40's is going to be better then those heads. The GT-40 heads are based off of the 69 heads if I am not sadly mistaken. You could also buy a set of plain heads and do the port work on them yourself. There are a ton of books out there on performance porting of heads and intakes to match. Just another option for you to chose from. Hope it helps.
