flat tappet - roller conversion

hey all, i have an 89 f-150 2WD with a pretty mcuh stock 302 and a 5 speed. im having the engine rebuilt soon and i was considering converting to a roller setup while i was at it. from what ive researched, all 88 and up 5.0's in trucks use roller blocks, so what exactly will i need to make this work? i want to run an e-303 cam so i know ill need the cam, roller lifters, roller rockers (might as well install these too while im at it), distributor gear, and ive told ill need different length pushrods. this is where im stuck, does anyone know what length pushrods ill need? please help, thanks a lot!!!

You can buy the lifters, pushrods, rockers, spider plate, and guide bars for a 5.0 Mustang. Summit Racing or Jegs has lots of stuff for the 5.0 Mustangs. You'll need to know your distributor shaft diameter to get the proper gear. Your valvesprings will need to be upgraded, and your firing order will need to be changed to a 351 W firing order. That E-303 cam may not run very well with a speed density type computer system (I'm assuming it's not mass air). I think you will lose a lot of low end torque with that cam - it's designed more for the Mustang crowd with higher winding motors and lighter weight. I recently installed a Crane 2020 Compucam in a 5.0 truck motor that found home in a 67 Stang, and I think it lost some low end torque, (It would'nt smoke em down like it did with the stock roller cam), but it pulled like crazy from 1800 to 5000 RPM. Check out Crane Cams website - the 2040 Compucam is identical to the Motorsport E-303, and they also list the springs, rockers, etc.
