Has anyone taken there stock 265-75-16s off and put on 235-85s? I have heard rumors of getting much better mileage due to the skinnier tire. I don't know if it would look gay or not but they are claiming as much as 1-2mpg. I do alot of highway and very little off the beaten path. If anyone has done this, feedback? PIcs?
I can't say @ the mileage but I had them on my work truck and they are a little taller than the 265/75's. I didn't think they looked **** at all. I see alot of F250's with 235/85's. HTH
according to the calculator, the are a 1/10th of an inch taller but I thought with being skinnier they would have less rolling resistance. I think they would look bad too so I was seeing if there were any pics out there.
Do you ever go off road, even to turn around in the grass or sand? If so, the last thing you want is skinner tires. They will just be making a trench under the weight of a diesel engine. Kinda like a fat woman in high heels in the dirt.

That's funny! I hadn't thought of it that way, but you are right. I also considered buying skinny tires for my 350. I too figured that I might gain 1-2 mpg. Perhaps not, maybe not worth it, I guess.
a guy i work with has some on his 250 it looks like crap... he gets about 22 mpg but it is a 99 with a 7.3 2x4 with a manual trany.. it can get any more geared for millage than that
maybe a little too skinny for my taste BUT, I have to make a 5k drive and if I can find a set of used but with great thread tires like this I wouldn't mind them. My tires are shot anyhow and if I could do this, it would save gas, save shipping charges of new ones and might be a win win situation.
