I have an 86 shorty 4x4 that is sweeeeet! I ripped the tired 302, AOD and NP208 and replaced it whith a fresh 302, C6 and NP205. I was an EFI truck and I cannot use the distributor now because Im carberated. I found the duraspark module in a 78 Lincoln tanker...it has the blue strain relief...so I take it home and look at the color codes and the colors are slightly different from other schematics I have looked at. The same amount of wires are there....some are in different locations than the diagram....is this common for Ford to do?? can i still use this module? or should I look again??
I just looked in my junk pile and on my 1980 pickup> Both are blue terminal modules.
One was:
White
orange
purple
black
red
green
The other was:
red
white
black
green
purple
orange
But, I looked at the plugs going to the dist. No matter what order the wires were in at the module, they ended up being positioned the same on the plugs that plugged in the distributor. So, try it, it will probably be ok.
