super fast starts

i have an 03 with 160,000m on it, it has started to fire very quickly. even on a cold start it doesn't even turn over twice before its running. my concern is that when it does this it is immediatley at 1100 rpm and surges erraticly. has anyone else experienced this? what would cause this? leaking injector? sticking ipr? any info is greatly appreciated.

Bump
I have the same problem with my 2004 F250 6.0 with 70,000mi On cold start, usually first one of the morninng the truck will start and surge or rev to about 1100-1200 rpms. it dose not do it when warm just after a long sit when it cools down, like over night. just dont like hearing it rev. on first start with no oil pressure and a cold motor. I know the dealer replaced the ICP and harness cause it was leaking. What else could be mine and Dirtworker's problems.

I'm with Blaster in that my truck does it every 15 starts or so, but the difference is that mine doesn't surge after starting quickly and so I'm just excited because I'm not taxing the starter or the batteries when it starts like this. The only thing I can think of is that it usually does this after I let the truck idle for a while before shutting it down the night before and so I was thinking that maybe there was some excess fuel left in the cylinders.

i was thinking along the lines of fuel in the cylinders also, thats why i'm wondering if i have an injector leaking or sticking. ford said they have never heard one do that.

for those of you having the problem, is your icp sensor at the rear of the engine? Not at the front of the passenger vavle cover like the newer 6.0s. If so when was your last pcm update?
