I have an 08 6.4 F350. I dont drive it alot, thus it sits in my driveway for four days at a time. The driveway has a slight grade (very slight).
When I finally drive it, the truck tac's 2500 RPM but will hardley move. After about three minutes it shifts and drives fine. It was like the tranny fluid was draining out of the converter or something. So I backed my truck up the driveway and let it sit for four days. It did the same thing.
The dealer dropped the trans pan and replaced a sensor. No dice, the problem is still there.
i have a job 1 f350 drw kr 4.30 i had the same problem yesterday on a cold start i didnt let it set and idle very long i thought maybe the trans fluid didnt get circulated in the pan after about 100 ft it was ok and it hasnt happened again i let it idle for a few minutes first...

So when you say you didn't let it Idle for very long, what does that mean. I start mine in the morning and after 20 or 30 sec. I am going down the driveway. Mine has not failed to clunk into gear the instant I pull it into drive.
I have had that problem once or twice on cold mornings when I did not let it idle at all. Started it and took off, noticed that it would barely move and that the boost was at 0. Couple hundred yards and it started making boost and then drove fine.
That happened a few times with my 01 250 PSD on very cold mornings. Once it went to the end of my drive it worked fine. That truck has 60000+ miles on it when it started. My 08 hasnt done that yet, but it is parked in Fla. for the coldest months of the winter now
mines not a daily driver i drive it once a week maybe...i have gone on some trip to new mexico with no problems....letting it idle means 2-3 minutes not 20-30 seconds...maybe this is a sign of things to come.yet it has only happen once...my side parking lights falling out has been the only problem i have had with truck and i have had mine for over 1 year so far. i had the dealer change the oil the other day and found a leak at the plug ..it was loose fixed it myself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....
Sounds like you either have an issues in the valve body or the electronics, what job build is your truck, when did it start, how is the fluid level, what is the condition of the fluid and how many miles do you have on the truck.
