I have a 1995 F-150 4x4 with a i6 300 and a manual transmission. sometimes when stopped at a light and in first gear with the clutch pedal is at the floor the truck still moves forward even on angles. and when i rev it, it moves forward even faster, almost as if i let the clutch out. any help. thanks.
Assuming the clutch isn't completely worn out, it's likely you have air in the system or the slave cylinder/throwout bearing (which actuates the pressure plate) is shot. Bleed the system first as that's a very low cost thing to do - the cost of time and brake fluid.
If that doesn't solve your problem, you're going to have to tear into things to see what is wrong. Might be the clutch is worn to the plates, or the fingers on the pressure plate are bent, the springs on the plate might have broken and come off, or the slave cylinder is shot/leaking/fractured/etc.
The fact that your clutch is particually biting at all times, means it's getting worn very quickly. YOu might be better off replacing the slave cylinder to the flywheel, and everything in between. Have the flywheel resurfaced with every clutch change for clutch longetivity.
did you notice any signs of wear and tear to the components of the clutch when you did the slave cylinder? have you noticed any kind of chattering along the way?
had the clutch and transmission redone a little more than a year ago. just had the slave cylinder redone about 3 months ago.
I bet your CLUTCH master cylinder is low on fluid. Unscrew the top off the clutch master cylinder and don't forget to remove that rubber cup under the cap and check the fluid level. If low top up with brake fluid allowing room for that rubber cup. FWIW, I just done a complete clutch job, including new slave cylinder, on my 1988 F-150 in December and I have to top up the clutch maswter cylinder about every two weeks.
