the only thing to watch for is if the axles move forward and back you have to have a slip joint. on the military truck they use the upside down leaf spring i just cant think of the type of setup its called.
they have boogie bars to keep the tandums in line. I think most of them have some kinda elliptical setup. Kinda like a car trailer. Leafs are upside down.
