loose emergency brake
If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about let me know and I'll dig up some pics for you.
You do have an adjustment for the parking brake shoes,on SOME trucks there is an adjustment hole to get at a star wheel located inside where the brake shoes for the parking brake is located,it is on the inside of the backing plate on the bottom,it will be oval shaped, you may have to ''punch'' it out to get to it,if you do have to punch it out,you have to take off the rotor to get to the ''coupon'' that you will get.It is not self adjusting, there is no adjustment on the cable like the older vehicles, but it should not be out of adjustment, unless the truck has been driven with the e-brake on,or maybe some mud/sand may have gotten in there and done their job on the linings, either way,it may not be a bad idea to take to the rotors off and take a look, while you are there, get some lube and lube all the contact points where the shoes contact the backing plate, clean everything up,take the adjuster out and clean it up and lube it.If they are worn or glazed over, replace them.Get a hardware kit if you replace them,it will have all new springs ect in it.While you have all this apart, dont forget to inspect your rear pads,it may be about time for replacement on those too
