First off, I have lurked around this site enough to know that there is an obvious wealth of knowledge here...so....
I have a 97 F 250 HD (it is actually the older pre 97 body style, one of the last batch built). I am having heater troubles in that I can get only luke warm air to blow. The thermostat is working, and the heater core seems OK as I back flushed it and both hoses get hot. My best guess is that I will have to pull the dash and start looking for obstructions or vent doors that aren't opening.......anyone have any other suggestions before I start tearing it apart? THANKS!
Can I find the blend door without pulling the dash? Is there more than one? I can see a door underneath the passenger side by dropping the glove box, it functions......THX!
Something for you to think about, If you have to open up the heater box, change the heater core. You have done too much work not to spend the little extra for a new core and know that you should be trouble free. I have seen cores partally blocked, you could flush them but they did not throw enough warm air to say so. Greg
