I have a 99 Ford Ranger 2wd with the V6 3.0 engine. The other day when I was on my way home I started loosing power. I thought I had a flat so I pulled over and check my tires no flat. Engine was running good etc. Started back on the 4 lane and went about another 2 miles and was loosing more power.. Pulled over and the truck was ideling rough (even less power).
Got the trucked trailered in to my house.
Put the truck on a computer and it read bad DPFE sensor.
Changed the DPFE Sensor, Plugs, and Wires. Truck still ideling bad with no power. I pulled the 2 O2 sensors on the manifold thinking my Catalytic convert was stopped up but still runs the same.
Also, when the engine gets to Normal temp it starts smoking Blue - Grayish smoke with a funny smell.
I am stumped on what to check next. Also the computer shows no Codes.
do a compression test and a leak down test, sounds to me like you blew a head gasket between the cylinder and the valley and its sucking oil and burning it.
