intake manifold
I had a water leak coming fromthe crossover tube on the front of the engine. so i bought two seals for it and attempted to change it. Thanks to ford engineers there is one bolt that keeps yout from removing the water housing from intake . So i removed whole intake. after I got it off and seperated the water housing from manifold. I found a piece of the plastic was broken out that hols the elongated seal in place alowing coolant to slowy push out of place as time passes. weird how this was broke maybe its been that way since new. 128k miles its is on inside no way to damage it unless had off and stuck smething insode water ports. any way I found a nos unit for about 200 bucks. thought maybe I could find a used one but no luck. any one else seen this. Sorry the engine is 5.4 gas.
