i just picked up a 2000 f350 crew cab 4wd, and i need to install a trailer brake controler.i have one already set up with a ford pigtail-plug end.my question is where does it plug into.i started to look under the dash and i didn't see anything obvious.thanks
i used to work at a truck accessory place and we used to install them alot on the newer trucks and they were always right near the fuse box but i just looked at my f250 2002 and couldnt see anything i saw some wires tapped up that were the right colors but no plug for the ford pigtale
your right.i looked at mine and they are to the right of the steering column,taped with a facotory label right above the obd plug.there is no connector.there is also a wire for a pto hook up.one question i have five wires togehther a blue,red,white black and a light blue w/pink stripe.what do i do with that one?thanks
FORD (THROUGH 2002) CONTROLLER FUNCTION FORD (NEW)
RED= BLACK +12 VOLT SUPPLY PINK
LIGHT GREEN = RED STOPLIGHT RED
BLUE= BLUE TRAILER BRAKES BLUE
WHITE =WHITE GROUND WHITE
maybe that blue/pink one is part of the pto set up.my draw tite brake controller has blue red black and white same gauge as whats in truck.i didnt think it would be that easy but maybe it is.i'm picking up connecter for rear of my truck for the 7 wire plug so i'll double check with the parts guy.thanks
