Hello,
I am purchasing a 1959 F250 from my buddy and would like to put power brakes on it. Is there a kit out there? I have seen some brake boosters being sold on line, but I was reading some old posts on this subject and there was talk of the booster being mounted mid-frame? I would appreciate any imput on this from you guys.
Doesn't the 59 have a firewall mounted MC? If so, I remember a thread a while back where someone used a booster and MC from a later model F100 but had to use a shim where the booster mounted on the firewall because of a raised area. If I am mistaken, somebody will come along to set me straight.
From what I remember the master cyclinder is mounted on the firewall. I'm guessing some company like MP Brakes or ECI probably has a kit.
I think it would be easy enough to add a booster from a late model truck, but yeah, you would have to find one that had a stand off so that it would clear the clutch master cylinder.
Hopefully one of the guys with a "frigerator" will chime in here and give you a better answer
