Bloody well right olde bean, I've been stating that All my life.
If you rip out the Heart & Soul of a Ford/Mercury truck, all you've left is Free Standing Art.
I don't know what's so great about small block Chevrolets anyway, our 300 sixes make equal if not more torque at comparable rpms. Just to **** all those guys off I'd like to buy an early 70s Chevy truck and drop a Ford 300 six in it and DRIVE it to every car show in the state of Michigan! Better yet I'll drop an insanely built 460 in there, that way I can blow their doors off too!

^^^ i have to be honest. i grew up around dodge. owned a few, and found that they are the biggest heap of **** right next to chevy. owned my first ford truck for about a month and a half now, and i gotta say its the most reliable dependable thing i've ever owned and didn't build myself, ie: honda's ect... its an 85 rust bucket and runs better than my 99 stratus, 94 dakota and umpteen other vehicles i've owned in my time, (21 to be exact, and i'm only 25). anyhow.. yes i was being sarcastic and humorous when i said what i said. didn't mean to push any buttons.

I was counting on you making that statement to clear things up.
Next time, Please use the Smilies so that we all know that you are being Humorous & Sacastic.
Sarcasm is always welcome, ignorance can take a hike. Thanx for clearing that up jhammond. I like Mopars too myself, my folks have owned several awesomely dependable Chrysler products. I have to say though I am really tired of seeing SBCs in every hot rod, custom car, rat rod, mud truck, and the list goes on. I tend to lean towards Fords myself because they have been so good to me, and I like to go against the grain Perfect example: I am doing a total frame off resto/mod of my 84 F150 4x4, I am doing a warmed up 300 six rather that swapping in a V8 like everyone else does. To my knowledge I am the only one in my town running a hopped up inline six... it's fun to be different.
Amazing! I simply think this exact same thread while on the 48-52 page and it shows up when I go to check the 300 page. Glad to see others are on my wavelength. I hope to eventually warm up my 300, but that's not gonna happen until at least graduation (still 4 years away).
