You would retain your factory ride by just installing them instead of a lift. I am curious why you need to make them if you already have them. If this is just a picture of someone elses and you decide to go the cheap route and make some, let me give you a bit of safety advice. Don't do it unless you know what you are doing. Making them too thin or with the wrong temper of metal will put you in the hospital. I know a guy who tried this several years ago on a toyota landcruiser and they bent over while he was going around a curve and he rolled the rig 3 times.

You can buy a set of those on Ebay for like $25 and $12 shipping. By the time you drive to buy the steel, cut it, drill the holes, and fire up the wire gun, it would be difficult to save enough money to make it worth your time.

thank you for the concern but no these are a pic off of ebay and they were 50$ pluss like 15$ so i figured i could just make em the posting says all the specs on em and i already have material and i am already welding all the time anyways...
how about after i make em ill take some pics and show you guys
the paltes on the outside are 3/8 and the 1x2 tubing is 1/4 wall so it should be plenty strong

Check this link LSATexan http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...mZ230236192037. It's the same shackles by the same Ebay seller but on their Ebay store for $25.99.

Guys, remember, what ever you put there is what is going to hold your axle under the truck while going xx miles per hour. For my part, not something I want to cut corners on. A brokens shackle, or u bolt is going to be a bad thing. Do yourself a favor and get a kit from someone that know what they are doing. It is going to cost a little more, but it will last and you won't kill yourself or someone else because of cheaper quality stuff. I guess it would be like buying $50.00 no name tires with no history. They will hold the truck up and roll forward, nothing else is promised. Sure they are cheap, but do you really want to drive 75 on them?

You're welcome. Let me know how the quality looks when you get them. I saw another guy advertising some on ebay, but the welds didn't look near as good as these.

Just for the DIY guys here are the measurements on the shackles on eBay.

The bar stock needs to be 9 3/4 inches long, 2 inches wide, 3/8 thick. The center of the hole to be drilled to the end on the shackle is 3/4 inch.

I just put these on my truck. I hope that they will hold up, does anybody have some miles on them to tell the quality and if they will last. The only problem I ran into and have a thread on it right now is that they might make it so your axle is not centered anymore. The track bar will need to be adjusted.
