2000 7.3 problems
I posted this before about how my Dad's 2000 7.3 has been acting crazy after replacing the high pressure oil line. It cranks great but if the engine is cold when you press the gas the engine doesnt rev like it has any power but the rpm's go up. It drives like this but at around 3/4 or 1 mile it picks up and runs fine. The power comes back and drives fine until it gets cold again...Forgot to add it smokes pretty heavy sometimes when cranking if its cold cold. Thanks in advance for any input.

He lives in SC so its not very cold compaired to the north. No codes come up at all. It does this every time the truck sits long enough for the engine to get cold(over night, work, church.......). We're stumped.

Sounds like it might be normal cold transmission operation. The tranny needs to warm up before it shifts "correctly".

Cold smoke sounds like a GP problem. Have you ohmed them out?
