Exclamation Fuel Strike...........

Attention Truck Drivers of North America
we have to act in solidarity,against extremely high fuel prices,
REMEMBER,"UNITED WE STAND"
Without us purchasing their fuel,their fuel will be worthless!!!
Time to strike!! is now!!
Since fuel price last year was $2.30 a gallon! we have complained,andhave been in the media.At no avail,the government won't do anything,the brokers,won't do anythingThe fuel has exceeded $4.00 a gollon! some Owner Operators have gonebankrupt,how long can we last! Maybe today,tomorrow,or next month! it doesn't matter if you are an owner ope or a comp driver,it still affects what you finally take home.
solidarity will see us through,again.
UNITED WE STAND,DIVIDED WE FALL!"
no one is going to do anything for us
the stores have raised their price!
why no us! some say,i can afford to strike!!
we can'tafford not to strike!!!
it is the only thing left for us to do,the government,brokers,company owners will have pay
PARK YOUR TRUCK ON APRIL28,29 AND 30-2008 DON'T BAY ANY FUEL,DON'T MOVE ANY LOADS!!
Take this message to heart, and commit yourself to it!!<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Yep.
Unless you plan on having those rigs parked for months, then this won't hurt the fuel companies at all. Everyone will buy fuel the day before and the day after, and the total amount sold will be the same.

Where's Obi Wan ....? .......he's our only hope.

Nothing gets done unless the masses do something..

If anything get the speculators to stop driving the price up because .... They think it will cost that much in 90 days.

Fuel strike my lily white....you know. Give it up people! The only way any kind of "fuel strike" would have any effect at all would be for virtually everyone to participate and it would have to last for a very, very long time. Totally unrealistic and virtually impossible. Even if it did happen (and it won't) it would hurt each of us in a big way looong before the oil companies would make a move. And then, what would happen when everyone started buying fuel again? Skyrocketing fuel prices once again.

Face it, there is absolutely nothing that we can do that will have any real impact on fuel prices. They have us by our collective throats and they know it. All we can do is try to minimize our own usage to save ourselves a few bucks here and there. Maybe...just maybe...in the long term it might bring prices down a tiny bit....but I doubt it. There are too many people raking in HUGE bucks that aren't going to let it happen.

They win, we lose. That's the way it is and it ain't gonna change!

I don't think the idea is to cut fuel sales, or to cost gas compaines money. It is to draw attention to a problem that is killing us out here. 4 wheeler drivers can't/won't do it, but I think the truckers can. If Joe American can't get his milk, eggs, beer, and chips, someone will take notice and hopefully realize that something has to be done to help relieve the situation. jd

I to think the idea isn't all the fuel that wont be bought, its all the loads that wont be delivered because of the strike. These fuel prices are really hurting everybody especially the smaller trucking companies, there was an article in the paper the other day of an owner who is cutting his fleet from 19 trucks down to 3 because he can't afford the fuel.

You want to do something that WILL work? SLOW DOWN!!!! 55 mph WORKS. You aren't having to make any changes in where your going otherwise. Since the result is LESS fuel being used to get the same job done, there would be no buy before or buy after scenario for the oil moffia to scoff at. It'll take a little bit for the results to kick in, but when the inventories start to build up, they'll be forced to work the price down. When they do KEEP driving 55 mph, so that the inventories will still conitnue to increase.

From one of my other posts..about Fuel Prices and we pay what they want to charge.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would love to be a Toilet Paper salesmen (Only one with TP) in an oil company office and they can't bring their own from home or store.
Once they take their dump........the price for TP is $1000.00 a sheet.
Get your money out buddy.... I'm the only deal in town.
well what ever you do keep it off the highway Please , I still gotta work there, Company driver I am........ seems every one of these protests takes to the highways with no effect what so ever,
If there's a place for a protest it's @ Queen's Park, Ottawa, or the Whitehouse, park them tractors all over the lawn and hinder the "Law Makers" and people who could make a difference if any can be made... I can't change it anymore than the next working stiff out there...so why hold us up..... I do agree something needs to be done, But pissing the general public off won't accomplish anything... IMO
The law makers don't have any say in the price, and the last thing I want to see, is them getting into more regulation. Slow down, and start working on the ones who directly profit from these prices.
With the hours of service they have it causes most drivers to have to speed to cover
the most ground in the allotted time they are given!! Even if it eats into their fuel cost
they will not get a good load from their dispatchers if the loads they deliver gets to
the destination later because they are trying to save fuel. The Dickspatchers don't
care about the fuel and see it as part of the business all they want is delivery on time.
We need to all demand a repeal of the taxes that are on the fuel since that will have
a big effect at least for awhile.
These fuel prices and the Nafta agreement are going to push a bunch of drivers out.
Since the mexican trucks will be able to fill up in Mexico (and probably have 4-600 gal)
drive to the drop and pick up and drive back and not even be impacted by the prices
and the road taxes.
The reason the fuel is going up and will continue to rise is that the government can't
build roads that can accomadate the rate that new cars are being added to them.
We have over 200 gasoline years of fuel in Colorado alone at the current rate of use.
SO scarcity is not the issue, the issue of the matter is most places do not have the
land available to build extra lanes, not to mention the money to build them and to
upkeep them and let's not get into the issue of extra lanes on bridges!! We can not
even keep up on the maintenence of the bridges we have now. The thing we need
to demand in our most crowded areas is to double decker the highways and have it
be a express road with few exits and basically be a way to get across a city with say
only 3 exits for 20 miles at the most. It will most likely save fuel especially for the big
rigs since they won't get stuck in traffic, The majority of traffic is caused by merging
on and off the highway since noone can stomp their pedal and utilize the acceleration
lane, And noone even bothers to use the decel lanes they always start braking way
before the decel lane holding up traffic and half way through the decel lane they don't
even have their brakes on!! Your body can handle the tiny G forces that braking from
65 mph to 0mph in 100 foot, That little thing alone can alleviate a lot of the flow
problems on the highway. Use the decel lane for braking DO NOT hit your brakes before
the decel lane.
Block the refineries. Stop the fuel from leaving the refineries. When the refineries shut down, they have to stop buying oil and the speculators will get stuck with it. Block the refineries for a week or two. Wipe out the speculators.
