302 rebild into ranger
i am puting a 302 intoa ranger and am looking for input
i want the engine to be in good runing order but i dont think im after high hp the truck will be more of a road truck than work
so mass torque isnt needed
i am a audio tech so the main goal is to have a sound system
for that i will need the alt to put out about 200amps but the more the better

Ford's ambulance package uses a 165 or 200 amp alt.
Might be able to make one fit up.
The external regulator is more reliable.
A lot of ambulances are going with the lower output alt becuase of the lower cut in.
It depends on how many amps you really need, when they are needed and how long they are needed.
You have to remember that charging systems are normally a deficit system.

ya i am not woried about fabing bracets got that coverd
the engine is out of a 85 crown vic
i hope to use the headman header for the swap its a shortie but i dont know the part number do u????
i hope to use the summit racing rebild kit for the engine as it has 300k on it
the engine has a 2 brl carb what vehical would i look for to pull a 4brl intake manifold and carb off?

he he i went and picked up the car tonght and drove it home and though do i realy need to change this engine?? it pulled hella strong better then my grandfaters 91 efi marquie
what kind of compression should i bee looking for when i check it?
