I am still having starting problems. I have checked pressures on everything all is well. I did search the 99-03 PSD and found a guy with a similar problem, but his fix was to add 8qts of oil to the crankcase, this is not my problem. I am in the process of fixing some fuel leaks and trying the IPR rebuild kit. I noticed after pulling filter housing out that I had nearly a 1/2 inch of diesel in the valley. Also my sloped driveway looks like the Exxon has been parked there. How likely is it that the fuel pump is on its way south and maybe bad? I have 211,000 miles on it. Coonhunterjoe had thought injectors are my starting problem, but the truck still has a ton of power. It has a completely new GP system, I mean everything has been replaced and is working. I get a romp, romp, romp and no start unless its plugged in. I also have replaced every sensor on the engine. I has also died on me at random times after I get off the throttle quickly, though it always restarts. Any input would be helpful. Thanks, Justin
before you do anything make sure that your YELLOW drain valve on the fuel filter canister is shut. if its pushed to the left side its OPEN. if its tword you its SHUT. you may be gettin air in the injectors causing you ROMPING or not start at all.
a simple thing to check before you start jumping to conclusions.
my .02 cents

Well, Fuel Pump may be one of the issues, use a small mirror to look under and see if weep hole is leaking...
ROMR could be several things...
1)FPR screen is dirty, pull from side of housing, or remove fuel filter and reach in with Q-tips to clean
2)CPS on frits,
3) Neutral switch on trans (i believe???) sometimes causes problems and romping start
4) (and what solved my "ROMP" Problem) was IDM... this is LAST too look at because expensive, and usually the'll die or be ok.... Mine was borderline, and a new one fixed problems.

Before you start it in the AM ...
Look in the HPOP resevoir ,,,see if its full ...
May have a LPOP problem when the oil is cold & thick ...
What grade oil are you running ?...
May want to try running a lighter oil...
Also ,, unplug the ICP connector ,,see if the sensor is leaking oil from it ...
I've done the ICP test, replaced the ICP. Replaced the CPS and the oil temp sensor. I am running 5w30 oil right now, normally 15w40 delo.Tried with and without the chip. I did discover my fuel heater was broken while I was replacing orings last night, Had to order a new one and no blown fuses. I also threw a seal kit at the IPR last night, but can't see if helped it until its back together. Another question is the FORD fuel pump different than the IH?
