How to change '03 and up window regulator
wOOt! Great Write up Yardbird with Pics and all.
Hoping to do the same for COP / PLUG / Injectors this weekend.
Mods - if you see this, can we start tracking the writeups and get a sticky list going at the top? When we get good ones, especially with pics and all, it would be helpful to have a "how to do XYZ" right at the top to reduce having to use the search function (which yields the wrong thing 75% of the time!)

I too did the repair on the wifes EXPY pass side window and ordered the parts from www.PartsGuyEd.com.As soon as that was done the front A/C blower motor went and I was back to ordering parts from Ed and let me tell you he saved me a bunch of money!!!
A question...
Is this fix just for windows that have stopped working all together?
I have a drivers side front window that goes down fine, but comes back up slowly and sometimes will slow to a stop and then restart and pick up speed close to fully closed. Does that sound more like window motor or regulator?
Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the motor has gotten lazy from wear and tear; driver's windows tend to go first since they're used the most. The fact that it goes up (slowly) then stops, then starts again would also suggest a dry spot (lack of lube) in that area of the regulator.
You can try taking the door panel off so you can lube all the moving parts. Try it again. If it is still sluggish remove the motor and try to maually move the window up and down. If there is a bind replace the regulator. If not replace the motor.
You can use silicone on the rubber window runners and light grease on the gears, pulleys and cables. You need to load the motor down to test it. If you just try turning it on in the UP and DOWN positions it may work. I like to load the motor down with a vise grip and then try pressing the UP and DOWN switches. This takes three hands. One to hold the motor. One to hold the vise grip and the third to press the UP or DOWN switches(If you don't have 3 hands try using your elbow or foot). If the motor tries to pull the vise grip out of your hand(in BOTH directions) it is working well enough to operate the regulator in both directions.
I would place my bet on the cheap plastic regulator. The cable has probably gotten twisted on the spool inside. Mine started out slow on the upstroke before it started binding both ways.
The slow up... I have a similar issue that is worse when it is cold - but it appears to be more of a binding thing... the window is going up from the rear quicker than the front... would that be a regulator issue as opposed to a alignment issue?
What do you mean by "alignment issue"? There is no aligment procedure. This is only a remove/install procedure not an aligment procedure. This isn't a sophisticated piece of equipment that requires calibration. Either it works or it doesn't. Have you removed the door panel and motor to see if you can manually move the window up and down by hand. If not that's the next step unless you have a magic wond which will fix the window for you.
I tried my magic wand and that failed, so I tried the light grease and a silicone lube... this was before I read these posts.
While the window is closing, it appears misaligned... the rear part of the window travels up seemingly faster than the front, and the window "binds" and will not close without manually grasping the front or forward part of the glass and pulling it up... which is why I took the door panel off, cleaned everything up and re-greased.
Now I will try your recommendation and go from there. Thanks
