The lower intake manifold gasket is notorious for failing right in the front part of the engine near the distrubutor. Good chance it's leaking from there if oil is leaking down the front of your engine.
I had to replace mine after I bought my truck a few years ago. I was a real bugger getting the lower manifold off. Two bolts broke off in the process and I had to get them drilled out. It's not a hard job if the bolts come out, 2 - 4 hours, but you have to disconnect wires and sensors you have to disconnect in the process. Good luck.
If you are losing oil pressure because of leak, the leak would look more like gyser. I believe you can leave the fuel injection wire harness in place as it rests on the edge of the valve covers over looking the engine valley, but you will have to disconnect just about every connection on that wire harness to remove the upper and lower intake manifold. You should be able to move both sides of the wire harness to the side to deal with the lower intake gasket. There is simply no raising it a few inches off to get at the old gasket, you have to completely remove it. You will find that you need to scrape the old gasket off the block before you can apply a new one.
