After doing my fuel injection service, new GPs and some drivetrain seals i finally put a tank of fuel through my truck. i got 16.3 mpg, very good with all things considered (35"s, heavy foot, lots of hills, etc...). it didnt miss a beat, runs like a bear and isnt all that bad to drive for a wun tun.
all in all i have to say i am liking this ol truck more and more everyday...not saying i didnt before because i absolutly did but it doesnt cease to amaze me that a brick moving through the air with big tires and a hot rodder behind the wheel can still pull 16 mpg.
id say with a little tuning of things (air pressure, finding the best cruise speed, etc...) and a couple of simple and easy mods i can get 18-20 mpg.
gotta ask, are you REALLY going to look for a best cruising speed since you say you're a hot rodder? LOL. I find that it's easier for me to be a baby with my 250 and when i want to hammer down the road, get on my sport bike and really wail on it. 42 mpg is better at 100mph than 10mpg at 80mph.
