my 87 F150 4x4 needs new front wheel bearings. (failed inspection) i pretty much knew it need them, though. BUT, my manual that i have doesn't go into detail on how to rebuild the front of my truck. only the late 88 and newer and 80-86.. i don't know torque specs or proper tightening of the key components. nor do i know what components are there. i don't want to do a fulll front end upgrade just yet, although that will eventually be in the future, i just want to get a new set of bearings in there and clean/regrease everying. (it's probably due anyways).

anyone have any help? i "think" i have the correct spanner/socket/hub piece, but am not sure also...

i did own a 93 Ranger with the same style of hubs, but i want to be sure i get it right. i also don't have the service manual for that, so i still wouldn't know exactly what i need to do.

 

do u have the flange hubs? They are fairly easy to work on but when u get the new bearings take the old with u cause i had 3 trips to parts store just for bearings. Its like half hour a side and u just have to pull center nut and caliper

anyone have any hints or ideas? my bearings should be here this week. i'll post up when i'm done. this always seems to be a big deal with these trucks, but no one ever has any answers.
