alrighty, I have a 95 f150 5.8 that I updraded to a 96 computer /w maf + all the other goodies obd2 needs.
Well I am getting an o2 error, probably because I do not have a cat o2 sensor installed. I am also getting an crankshaft position sensor error. Any ideas on why I would be getting that? I mean the sensor is in the distributor isn't it?
Not only that, the error comes and goes. Sometimes it is there, right when I start the truck, and other times it isn't and never comes on.
Now my truck isn't road worthy yet, so I have only had it running in my driveway, but I either get both codes or none at all. I am stumped.
Aftermarket tuning can be used to turn off the rear 02 sensor(s), that or add the wiring and sensor.
My tuning experience is with EEC-4/OBD-1 mass air and speed density, but there may be a function/system switch that can be changed to tell the ECU to ignore the crank sensor.
Judging from another thread I read here a few days ago, there is apparently a misfire sensor mounted where the timing pointer is mounted on older engines. Perhaps this is what the computer is looking for?
