302 swap

Hey everyone i know theres alot of 4.9 to 5.0 swap threads but i dont have too much time to read'em all and i have diffrent question..So i bought a 85 Mustang GT with the 4AOD trans and i wanna swap that into my 82 f-100 with a 4.9 and a c-6. so here we go. Should i keep the C-6 or use the C-4 thats already on the 5.0..if i use the C-4 can i use the Drive shaft thats in my truck and would i have to cut my floor panel out for the Shifter and does the c-4 work with the Mustang computer? im planing on carbing the engine so i can eliminate the comp. Can i use the Radiator thats in the truck or do i have to use the one in the mustang...it looks like i can used the A/C compressor and Power steering from the mustang but not sure you tell me. i would appreciate the comments and tips for this swap. if im leaving out important info let me know

You might try the tranny questions in the tranny forum. It kind of depends on what you're planning to do with the truck. Are you saying you have an AOD, a C-4 and a C-6? I doubt the Mustang tranny would endure much towing, but the O.D. would be nice on the highway.

Just measure the tranny in the truck and compare it to the Mustang tranny to figure out if the driveshafts will work.

The pump and compressor will work, but you'll need the 302 brackets. IIRC, the 302 uses a three row radiator and the 4.9 uses a two row.

If it were me, I'd try to keep the computer/fuel injection/OD tranny intact and plumb/wire the truck for it.

Yea your right sorry i should of posted that on the Tranny forums.. i might be towing so thats why i was thinking about keeping the 3speed C-6..another thing i forgot to ask was when i buy headers for the 302 would i buy ones for my year truck that would fit a 302? would those fit on that Engine? oh and my trucks also going to be my daily driver and was thinking of keeping the 2.75 rear gears on it too...what ya'll think??
