AJ-bring your parts you want to polish, I think I still have some rouge left, you can use my buffer.

PS...bonus for anyone that comes down gets to take a look at a pretty slick '68 Vette, it's a 427/390HP with Muncy 4speed, supposed to be pretty much original...I'm helping out a family friend to get it on the road to sell...of course a few er...test rides will be in order soon enough

You can take the boy out of the Chevy - but it is hard to take the Chevy out of the boy.

Tell your friend that if he will bring a good '56 Thunderbird we will help him polish it up!

lol...well, it's a "she", and it's all she got from her divorce settlement...truck driver is in LA right now, so it should be here tonight or tomorrow morning sometime.

I will take a look in the truck to see if there's any T-Birds he forgot to unload

If she's over the age of 40 or so, tell her you know some single guys.

Thing is, her and her Ex dumped like 55K into this thing about 10 years ago, so it shouldn't be a project, but I have to reserve judgement until I see it.

She seems to think it's worth a mint, I think her Ex convinced her of that, I'm guessing (after being on Corvetteforum.com for a few years) she has a 35K-45K car...now she does have lot's of extras for it, but I don't "think" it's a top dollar, Barret Jackson-type sedan.

Heck, I just want to run through the gears in it, I have a '57 Chevy PU with a '70 LS5 454 (390hp), but with an automatic (TH400), and always wondered what the truck would do with a 4 speed...damn, I'm getting a woody just thinking about it

UPDATE:

I just got home from work a little while ago. I've been keeping the '68 F250 at work, so after work today I dropped the tranny and swapped in the T-19 that I had from the boss's '86. I now have a true 4-speed (no granny gear) fully synchronized tranny in the truck, which should be much better for towing. The NP435 has a huge spread in ratios between 3rd and 4th and it's a PITA towing up hills. Besides, it was getting noisier and noisier and I was getting nervous about losing a bearing in it. And there was an annoying driveline vibration that was driving me nuts.

I took it for a test drive tonight, seems a lot better. Still a few details to work out and then get the trailer hooked up and Thumper situated on it a little better, so I hope to pull out of here by noon or thereabouts.

That is too late for me - I will do a paypal transfer to Mike now and you can collect your money from him. Fastmover indicated $140 was needed, and we have a commitment for $100. I'll send $40 - or better $50 to cover paypal fees. Let me know if this is not enough.

I knew that, what was I thinking about? Sorry .... See you there, when would that be ??? About what time 5p or so ???
I'll try to hit Mike's at 3p or sooner. No RV this time. Just the F100 since I need to get home by 7-8p I think.

I can't say for sure, it depends on my stop in Lodi. That shouldn't take too long, and I may be able to do it Sunday on my way home instead. I'll post here when I hit the road and of course I'll have my cell with me.

Yep, aint that true? Once you have a taste of the dark side .... you might be lost or, at least a little confused. Oh no, that explains me in a nutshell.

Hey Clint,
I am not sure how much money was collected for gas other than the bit I put in and now you put a good bit more in. Thanks for your help. That will really help out.
