I installed the rear gas tank from a 1980 F-150 into my 66 F-250 4 - WD over the weekend. had to remove some of the second crossmember and reinforce it to get it in there, put it in sideways with the spout coming out the back. dont have the bed on as yet so dont know exactly where the fill spout will be located. my question is this. does anyone know which wire is ground and which is lead to the guage. i plan on putting a switch in the cab to switch to the other tank. one wire is black and the other is yellow with blue spots in it. also if anyone knows what the ohms are on this truck tank i would like to know that also? just to make sure that the original wireing in the 66 will be sufficient to operate it. I'm hoping it is not gonna make any difference. i installed a bronco tank in my f-100 and the guage only goes to half full when i switch it. Also will the guage work correctly if i wire it up backwords? Thanks guys. Dutch

Seems number of members are either moving, or adding a gas tank, I like to bookmark these thread if a member post pic's of his/her project, find it very helpful when other members seek advise with simular project.

I just aquired a digital camers from my son. I'll take a bunch of pics and have him show me how to get my gallery started. it's time an old fart like me learns how, no matter hooooooow long it takes. LOl Dutch
