Centrifugal advance
I have two Durospark 302 distributors that are only advancing 4 degrees at 2000 distributor rpm. These are clean and well lubed. I compared the advance setup to a points disributor that is working ok and don't see any difference or parts out of place. Vac advance is working. Any thoughts?

Yes, I even had the shafts out. They had varnish on them and were a little stiff to turn. Did a test today with one spring removed and was able to get full advance. I am testing on a distributor machine or it would be a real pain. I don't see how the advance will work with the heavy spring on. I looked at a points distributor that has full advance and the springs don't apply tension until the advance stop is almost reached.

One factory spec that I am using for a guide is for a 65 289 4bbl. From 500 to 1000 distributor rpm the advance goes from 1.5 to 7.5 degrees. From 1000 to 2000 it then goes to 10 degrees. I would like to see some specs for the late 70's to early 80's.
