I have a 79 F150 4x4 that has a 302 (not sure if it came with 302). I've been looking for a set of headers for it, but can't find them for 79 4x4 w/302.
Flowtech has a set, but year start at '80. I spoke to their Tech Services this AM, and they don't list any for 79. Are the frames that different from 79 to 80?
I'm wondering if I could make a set of these work?
no there are no headers that fit that body with a small block ford. the problem is that the headers for those trucks have all the tubes real tight together, like for the 351m or the 390 trucks. the headers for the 80 up smallblock trucks, the tubes are in a row together and will not go past the starter. I never found anything that would fit ,but maybe try some late model shorties.
Thanks. I'm thinking about going the shorty route, but I'm new to this. To get pipes up to the shorties, does it become a trial and error thing? Or is there some "guide" to what pipes to use?
