Feeling Stupid!

I ran the Ex to the dealer because I was getting a grinding/vibration around 22-25mph. It kept getting worse and worse with time. I figured some bearing was going bad in the driveline somewhere.......... Dealer calls me 2hours later and says "it's fixed" Turns out the front tires were cupped so bad it was causing the vibration. Had the tire rotated and it's smooth as silk now! DUH! Jus tthought I' d mention it so someone else wouldn't run their Ex in for this!

By the way, what would casue the tires to become cupped? The front end was checked and the alignment was right on so??? I keep the front tires at 65-70 psi??

I am just shooting in the dark here, but how are your ball joints? Something is not right to cause the cupping. Is it a 2wd or 4wd? I have never had a tire wear issue with my SD's except for my 99 when the alignment off.

It's a 4wd. I agree though the tires shouldn't be cupping like this if the front end is in good shape??

Cupping is caused by tires out of balance. Inside cupping can be caused a worn steering stabilizer. Long shot though. It's usually the wheel's toe is out of adjustment.

I had a 85' that cupped with one brand of tire but not a different brand, some tread patterns aren't the best on certain vehicles.
