This may sound dumb, but a few of you guys have see ya at smokin on your posts. What is that about?? Sorry for my ignorance!

 

A diesel event in the Smokey mountains in TN. DP Tuner sponsors and attends this event along with others.

Smokin in the Smokies in Gatlinburg TN on April 10-12. DP-Tuner is hosting drag racing, dynos and a big get together of several forums. There is going to be several FTE members there and a bunch of other people from The Diesel Garage and other forums. I'll find the Info on it here shortly.

 

Sounds like a good time! I should check into it and see if I can get there!

Just want to remind everyone, EVERYONE is welcome to attend our event.

I am still waiting on Wayne to get settled and we will get back on setting up times and what's officially going on for Friday.

So far we have:

Thursday- Tech Day/ Pm Corey(Squatch) for times on Thursday.

Friday- A sled pull has NOT been determined.
Smokin Breakfast- cooking will start at 7:30 am and ready to eat around 8:30. PM Bouncer or reference his thread about the breakfast.

*Alternative for Friday-All voluteers who have signed up to help on Saturday will have a chance to Dyno on Friday. We will keep the dyno open late. If you can't be there until Saturday am please let me know. I will update this post as soon as we hear about a sled pull.
Test and tune at English Mountain Dragway. They open at 5 pm. There will be a convoy from the campground. Be at campground around 4:30 if you don't know where it is at so you can convoy over.

Saturday- the dyno will get started at 8:00 am and will run until DPM says they can not take anymore for the day. The sign up sheet will be put out shortly before that. So, be there early. We are planning on having the Dyno Brackets again. Prizes for the winner are still coming in. I will update this post as we get closer as to the details on the prizes. Due to letting everyone have a fair amount of time on the dyno, dyno tuning will NOT be allowed on Saturday.
Show-n-shine registration will begin at 9:00 am and will go until noon. Judging will start at noon and will go until 4:00. S-N-S shine judging will be done by Smokin' attendees. See me for registration and judging cards.

Lunch will be provided between 12:30 and 1:00

Smokin bonfire afterdark-We usually give everyone time to grab a bite to eat and then the party gets started between 7 or 8. Music and assorted beverages provided. Bring your own if you prefer to. Don't forget your Ipods for Saturday if you want to listen to your favorite music.

It'd be great to see you. It's a bit of a haul from where you are though.

 

You could check with Kris (strokin_it7.3) and see if you can get in with his Convoy comming down from MD

 

it's about a 15 hour ride from where I am. If I can get one of my freinds to come along I just might make the trip. My 8 year old daughter said that she'd go. I think that she'd be bored though!!

 

Not really, Gatlingburg, the Smokies, and Piegon Forge is a big tourist destination. Dollywood the biggest TN theme park just opened so you could drop the family off there and come to Smokin .

It may be a little too late to find a place with reservations open... good luck though. Youre more than welcome to drive down the night before on the 8th, stay at a local hotel near the freeway, and then we would join you in the morning and head down. So far its just me and Hkusp.

 

If you do decide to make the trip, and can't find anywhere to make reservations, You can make them in Newport. Its only like 20 minutes or so to Gatlinburg. Several Hotels just down the road from where English Mountain Drag way is located.
