I have a 2001 F250 Tansmition was re-built at 23,000 miles. New torque converter at 64,000 miles. Now leaking trany fluid again, 130,000 miles. Any ideas on whats wrong our what needs to be replaced and what to replace it with?
Feel like driving down to Lead Hill, AR? About 1156 miles or do you want to have him ship it to you? If you drive there, he installs it for free. Shipped to you, it is $4100 plus freight both ways since you have to send him your core.
If I felt like I could drive it that far I really would not have it repaired. I seen this on some other threads I guess he has just gone up on the price. Free install makes it worth the money. If that is what it coast to have it done right it would be worth it for me. I would like to find another alternative local. Any ideas on a torque converter, does BTS offer one?

Installing a trans is not rocket science. $4100 is the cost to rebuild the trans right.
That is your choice but will you get as good service after 2 years? Will you have as good a trans where the owner dares you to break it and not try to weasel out on the warranty?
Precision Industries Stallion is what he uses. I wouldn't go for an expensive TC unless I have a good trans to mate it to.
