Ive heard good thing about roral purple and its bout time for another oil change and was just wondering if anyone runs this. I been thinking of changing everything over to roral purple if its worth it. If you are running this have you seen any improvements in anything thanks.
I use Royal Purple in my SD. I have run for my last two changes. I honestly don't know if there is any difference between it and any other synthetic. It is purple. I will probably run it for a couple more before making a decision as to weather or not continue with it. They do claim some benefits but as of yet have not seen anything significant.
I have put it in my rear diff and it might be just my warped sence of things but it feels different (in a good kind of way).
I plan on swapping over the front diff and transfer case this summer. There was a good video on the Royal Purple site that was taken from the Trucks! TV show that claim better HP and Torque on the dyno.
I've used it and I believe that it's good stuff. I did switch back to Mobil1 super synthetic as it's much cheaper and I believe that it performs just as well.
don't you only need to change the oil like every 5 or 7 or 10K when you switch to 'synthetic" though?
I also want to try the diff and tranny fluid
and some kind of liquid ice or whatever type of liquid they have for the radiator . . .'sposed to make the engine run even cooler than the oil will already

Using the Mobil 1 fully synthetic Extended Performance oil, I change my oil every 12000 miles in my '04 Expy and my '99 Taurus. I've been doing this since the early 90's and have never had a problem.
I actually switched to Mobil 1 synthetic because while at sea one day, I noticed that Coast Guard helicopters use it and keep it in thier survival kit.

Go ahead and give it a try. I use the diff fluid also. If you don't like it just switch back, some people have claimed fuel mileage gains with it, I don't drive easy enough to record data usually.
