For what it's worth Dept.
I have a 2000 F250 7.3L PS. Last week my HPOP started leaking oil out the rear cover. I ordered a new Bosch pump. Before I installed the new pump the engine had to crank about 5 to 7 seconds after heating the glow plug(s) before it would run. Since installing the new pump, it has to turn over 12-15 seconds before it will run. I called Rochester Fuel Injection, Rochester, MN; talked to a guy in their shop. He said the system is airated (spelling?????) and it will take 50 t0 100 miles of driving to work the air out of the HP oil system and it settle down to cranking up normally.
Hope this info will be of value to someone someday.
