found another tag

found another tag hanging behind the battery,
the numbers tie in with the vin tag, (luckily),

anyway, for those who are interested, heres the details of the tag,

5-273A
F1 4-2 114
RADIO TRANS A

That's a "Buck Tag" installed on the line at final assembly.

AFAIK, there's no decoder for these tags, but my guess is: F1 = F100 / 4-2 = 2WD / 114 = 114 " Wheelbase / The truck came with a radio (it was an option thru the 1970's) / Trans A = Ford type 3.03 3 speed all syncro manual transmission.

What 5-273A refers to, I dunno.

There was also a build sheet. These were also installed at final assembly.

The usual places it was installed was on the passenger side underneath the seat, jammed in among the springs. Or, under the floormat.

Most of these build sheets have rotted away to nothing by now...but you never know...it might still be there.

looks like there is a decoder for these "buck tags",
it's called numberdummy ! cos your "guess" is spot on,

as for the build sheet in the seat,
if you look at my other post i think the seats aren't original,
