Well do it, and lets get some pics along with it. I'd love to see it, always up to see something original.

The truck is a 77 250 with a divorced np205, and a 2 wheel drive t-18 that replaced the screwed up np435 that I bought it with. Some moron screwed with the synchros, and then tried to drive it, and when I drained the oil, it was silver in color from all of the shavings in it. As for the pics-sure thing. I just gotta find me a pto now..........

check around the feed stores or the diesel shops in your area, that would probably be your best bet.

Ok, you have PTO ports, but, do you have the actual PTO's? Those are the expensive part. Seriously, those winches aren't rated for anything nearly enough to be usefull... Hell, my quad has a 2K winch on it, and I have a ****** block on there because I need it sometimes, and, my quad only weighs about 750 lbs...

You can get ptos for pretty cheap if you know where to look. I got my brother one for his t-19 for under 25 bucks for Christmas.

My 4 wheeler has 28" tires, and around 16" of ground clearance, so, yah, when it stops moving, it is STUCK.

You can buy a 2,000 lb+ atv winch for about $100 (saw a couple selling for $80 on PBB not to long ago, new), and put a ****** block and it'd probably have more pulling power than that thing.

Not that I'm suggesting that, but it'd be super cheap, and a good bit easier, and have about the same if not more pulling power. I could understand something real small like that for a 2wd(many times the truck was stuck, but just about anything would get it out... come a long).

This is much better than a silo winch..... it yanks boats right out of the water its so powerful.

I like to think of mine as a 1000 dollar hood ornament.

Ok, so basically you guys have no idea-would it have been so hard to just admit that, or just keep to yourself? I already said that I don't do any hard-core off roading, and that I don't need a 10 ton winch. And as for the ATV winch suggestion, I'm no expert, but I would bet quite heavily that a silo winch(at least the ones I've seen in person) is stronger than one of those. If you knew anything about silo unloaders, or had even ever seen one, you would know that they're no small piece of machinery, and weigh well over a ton, and these winches handle them with ease.
I don't think it's too much to ask for people to just keep to themselves when they don't know what they're talking about, instead of taking any possible opportunity to make fun of someone else's idea. Thanks to those of you who actually did contribute some useful feedback.
