Well the kit says its for gas or diesel, what did you install it in. Im just curious about how it performed and if you liked it.
I will be using it for gas. What is the difference between the springs for the 1-2 accm it has three choices as I understand the instructions tell you that
when you use the following different spring combinations
outer/green, mid/green, and inner/green you get a shorter smooth shift.
outer/green, mid/green not installing the inner you get a even shorter shift
outer/green, not installing the mid/green and inner/green you get the shortest shift.
Ok so does this means that the less springs you put in the shorter the shift will be such as.
When you step on the gas it will shift like 1st 2nd quickly
Or speed up in first and shift bark the tires into second type of thing.
Hopefully I made some sense
I dont remember which springs I did. Its been a while. I do remember having to drill a hole in the valve body. Im not sure if we have the exact same kit or not. I remember mine saying stage 2 on the box.
stage 1 towing
stage 2 performance street
stage 3 full manual
The kit 1&2 which leaves it automatic shift for heavy duty/offroad and street use or for diesel use sk6, but the sk6 is for both gas and diesel.
The 3 is full manual for racing and comp.
I was really nervous about installing this kit, but the instructions really make everything really clear.
Truthfully I can only add a few mods and parts as money persists, because Im still in high school. So its just a few goodies here and a few there to make it a little better to my liking.
I know I know I have BFGs but they were new and they came with one of the trucks. Please dont beat me
But its fairly stock 4 inches of lift lift, dual exhaust, 351M/c6/205, D44/9inch open diffs, and I just ordered a edelbrock intake, and straight up timing set.
The body and paint work was done by my dads cousin, I forked out for all new weather stripping, and interior.
I pretty much have the shift firmness and the accm 1-2 thing figured out.
I still have one more question in the instructions it says to drill a hole that is between .076 and .084 inch. Its only like a matter of like .008 of an inch but will it matter if the hole is closer to .076 or .084 when affecting how the kit will perform.
Its a good looking truck. I love the color. Tires bring the suck but you already knew that.
My kit didnt have options IIRC. Mine was a straight out the box install all this junk and youre done. I dont think mine worked for gas or diesel trannys either. Maybe your kit is older/newer than mine
My kit only came with instructions, springs, and vacume line Ts. I have to measure a drill bit and drill all holes in the plate and valve body. Hey and if I screw it up I have like 2 extra VBs sitting around.
