Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this one saved me a bunch of trouble and money.

2003 Ranger 4x2 - 4.0

I've been fighting the P0171 & P0174 codes for a while.

Lately it started idling rough and even stalling at lights.

I tried cleaning and replacing the MAF sensor, didn't help.

Was ready to replace the EGR pressure sensor and came across this thread making mention of the rubber elbow.

Took a look and sure enough it had a gash in it just like described.

Wrapped it in electrical tape and it idles smooth as pie.
