with all the aftermarket performance distributors out there--whats yurall opinion on who makes the best----runnin 79 460--69 c9ve heads--10.5:1 comp--big cam---msd 6al--850 dp
well your already running the msd ignition box so why not go with an msd dist.
Only one I stay the heck away from is the mallory unilites the little lights in them tend to not like vibration so not good offroad at all and if it goes out your dead in the water. I do run MSD on my race truck and been running this dist for 5 yrs with the only thing I have ever done was change the gear due to I run a solid roller cam.

+1 on the Mallory. I have a Mallory Unilite on my 72 Pontiac Ventura II and it's dead in the water after only 12,000 miles on the distributor.
Why not stick with the DS2 distibutor? An MSD distributor has the same mechanicals as a DS2 distributor and the DS2 is a whole lot cheaper to buy too.
If you are looking for easy timing curve changes and tunability the MSD is #1. The factory ford electronic unit has the exact pickup as the MSD and is much cheaper. For a daily driver the factory unit is the way to go. For race applications the MSD is the way to go. IMO
