24,000 miles - Replaced Defective Engine, replaced defective Catalytic Converter, Replaced defective AC unit (Twice). I need to get rid of this truck. Anyone know who I should contact about possible compensation. I think I need to go higher than the local dealer. Thanks
If talking to dealer gets no response, try a meeting with a reputable (?) lawyer in your area. If that gets nowhere, try attorney general's office in your state. Good luck.
Start with your State Attorney General's Office and the better business bureau to find out where you stand. Then contact Ford customer service through the 800 number and inform them of the problem and ask what they intend to do about it. When they blow you off ask to talk to a supervisor and keep doing that until you get or at least did everything you could to get an acceptable answer.
I did this about the paint job on my wife's '93 Taurus when the local dealership wanted to paint 6 or 7 different spots to fix a poor factory paint job when the car was under three years old and still under warranty. I finally got ford to tell the dealership to paint the whole car. Hope it works out...Good luck
Hey, look into the buy-back program as long as you had all these problems AND you bought your F150 brand new. My brother-in-law is getting his '99 Excursion bought back from Ford because of continual brake problems, and Ford has fixed his brakes three different times! You have to throw a fit and demand a buy-back, as you might well guess it is probably costly to Ford to buy back a lemonmobile. Be persistent, tho! Ford will probably offer you a new F150 to replace your lemon. Ford is totally replacing my brother-in-law's Excursion with a new '02! Your truck should be well under warranty so I don't see why they wouldn't buy it back.
To get immediate action,File a Attorny General claim against the dealership first. You will get a claim number, which will involve the Dealer ship which in turn gets immediate attention from Ford.
